About these terms

HostLabs is operated by CodeLabs Philanthropic Solutions Limited of 2nd Floor, S.S.B Building, Wakiso, Uganda. These terms apply when you order or use HostLabs hosting, domain, and related services. By placing an order or using a service, you agree to these terms and the details confirmed in your order.

Our public website explains the available packages. Orders, payments, account management, and support tickets take place in the HostLabs Client Area. If a marketing description and your confirmed order differ, please contact us before paying so we can resolve the difference.

Orders, prices, and renewals

Hosting packages are billed annually. The USD price shown on the public website is for one year; UGX figures are estimates based on a conversion rate and are not a separate quoted checkout currency. Check the final amount, currency, taxes, domain charges, and recurring price displayed in the Client Area before placing an order.

The recurring price and billing dates for your service are recorded in the Client Area and invoices. A promotion or included item applies only when it is shown in the confirmed order. We will communicate material changes to recurring charges as required by applicable law.

An order is a request for service, not a promise that a domain has been registered or hosting is active. We confirm the service status through the Client Area after any required checks and payment steps are complete.

Your account and responsibilities

Provide accurate and current account, billing, and domain-registration information. Keep your login credentials secure, use available account protections, and tell us promptly about suspected unauthorised access. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account unless the law provides otherwise.

You are responsible for the content you publish and for having the rights and permissions needed to use it. Keep independent copies of important website and email data, even when a package includes backups.

Acceptable use

HostLabs services must be used lawfully and without harming other customers or networks. The following uses are not permitted:

  • Sending unsolicited bulk messages, phishing, fraud, or distributing malware.
  • Attempting unauthorised access, disrupting systems, or evading security controls.
  • Publishing or distributing content that infringes another person’s rights or breaks applicable law.
  • Using shared resources in a way that materially degrades service for others or prevents normal operation.

Shared resources and fair use

“Unlimited” describes features without a fixed numerical allocation in the advertised package; it does not mean that a shared server has infinite capacity. Use must remain compatible with normal hosting operation and the rights of other customers. We will explain a material resource concern and work with you on a practical remedy where possible.

We may restrict or suspend activity that poses a serious security, legal, or service-stability risk, using notice where reasonably practical. Urgent action may be necessary to protect other customers or infrastructure.

Domain names

A domain search result is provisional. Registration, transfer, and renewal depend on registry rules, availability, eligibility, accurate registrant details, and successful completion of the order. We cannot guarantee a domain until its registration is confirmed.

An included domain applies only to the extensions and conditions shown for the selected package and confirmed at checkout. Registry or registrar requirements may also apply. Please review the registration period, renewal price, and any transfer requirements before ordering.

Support, availability, and backups

Every hosting package includes access to 24/7 support through the available customer channels. This does not promise a particular response or resolution time. We aim to keep services reliable, but maintenance, third-party networks, security events, and faults can affect availability.

Packages advertised with daily backups include routine backup processes. Backup availability and restoration can depend on the circumstances; keep your own current copy of important data and contact support promptly if you need help restoring a service.

60-day hosting guarantee and refunds

If you are a new hosting customer and are not satisfied with your first HostLabs hosting purchase, request a refund within 60 days of that purchase through a support ticket or the contact details below. The guarantee applies to the eligible hosting charge for that first purchase only.

Domain registrations, domain transfers, domain renewals, and hosting renewals are not covered by the 60-day hosting guarantee. If an order contains both hosting and a domain, the guarantee applies only to the eligible hosting portion. Any other refund rights provided by applicable law remain unaffected.

Cancellation and service changes

You can request cancellation or a package change through the Client Area or customer support. We will confirm when the change takes effect and whether any amount is due or refundable under your order, this policy, and applicable law. Cancelling hosting does not automatically cancel or transfer a separately registered domain.

If a service ends, associated website files, email, or settings may become inaccessible. Please export what you need before the confirmed end date. We may suspend or end a service for nonpayment or a serious breach of these terms, with notice where reasonably practical.

Responsibility and changes

We will take reasonable care in providing the services. Nothing in these terms removes a right or liability that applicable law does not allow us to exclude. If something goes wrong, contact us so we can investigate and explain the available remedy.

We may update these terms as services or legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the latest published version. Material changes affecting an existing service will be communicated where required by law.

Questions or complaints

For a question about these terms or a first-purchase refund request, use the contact details below. Existing customers can also open a support ticket from the Client Area so the request is linked to their service.
